Small red bean, annual erect or twined herb, up to 90 cm tall, pinnately compound leaves. Stipule peltate, arrogated, lobules ovate to rhombo-ovate, entire margin or shallowly trifid, both sides slightly sparsely hairy. The flowers are yellow and the pedicels are very short. It is cultivated in both north and south China. It has the effect of preventing constipation, eliminating edema and strengthening spleen and stomach.
